web design pricing
reasonable rates
If you've been trying to find out what the normal charge is for a custom-designed web site, you're probably baffled by the wide range of fees. Unfortunately, there really is no standard rate for web design. A higher price tag does not necessarily mean a better product. You're going to have to comparison-shop. If you look at riotta.com's design portfolio, you'll see that our rates are extremely reasonable for the quality work we do.
Cost for a basic website
Our fee for designing a basic site is $300, which includes:
- Site Design
- Main page (up to 2 screen-lengths)
- Navigation menu
- Up to 3 digital images* in the content area of the page
- Logo design or enhancement (we will scan your logo for you, and enhance it if necessary)
*Photos and/or graphics must be sent in jpeg, gif, or bmp format.
Additional pages are charged at a rate of $15 per page**.
**Cost will be $15 per page unless a page is unusually long and/or complicated. (For example, pages that include javascript pop-up images, extensive photos, slideshows, Flash animations, or complicated forms.)
Optional Add-ons
The following are features you can add to the basic site described above to create a more dynamic website.
- Content Management System (CMS) - A CMS will allow you to edit your own pages and add new ones. Knowledge of HTML is not required, but you will be able to use HTML if you wish, and we will provide you with instructions. The cost for a CMS is $250.
- Blogs and Discussion Forums - $100 each. These features can be customized with your site colors. If you want the blog and/or forum to fit inside your custom-designed template, there are several hours of programming involved, so the cost will be higher.
- Calendar - $100.
- Secure shopping carts - The cost for this depends on various factors, so the price will have to be quoted on an individual basis.
